The leaves of the plant have long-time traditional use since it is believed to be beneficial for treating urinary problems and promoting wound healing.

Believed to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties, other traditional uses include treating respiratory problems, such as asthma, bronchitis, and colds digestive issues, and skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and scabies.
