The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step…

No one mentioned that the ‘journey’ wasn’t exactly going to be on a straight path, did they?

What a year it has been and for its worth, I am glad we are moving forward together (more or less!) through these times. When I began the process of modernizing this site I knew there were going to be a few stumbling blocks along the way, but I never dreamed of the boulders that were to be hurled at us during this journey. Viruses, illnesses, job changes, drought, fires, shortages, fights, loss, and most importantly hope have been the hallmarks of these few scant months that have changed our world, our lives forever.

Through all of these things, I have been blessed with love, support, kindness, strength, plants, and healing. I dare say that I will need to revisit this well again and again in the weeks and months to come, but I am glad of things that I have been able to learn and do over the last few months.

One of those things is evident in this very post that you are reading here on the new UsefulWeeds site! It’s taken a bit longer than I had anticipated, and there’s still a lot of polishing to do, but I am pleased to see where we are at today. I’ve learned a lot! (Especially about what I don’t need to do!) I would have never been able to accomplish the things that I have without a lot of a lot of great people to connect with.

I want to take a moment and send a huge heartfelt thanks to one of those great people, Ryan Clover at Maple Creative, for all the amazing support and education that has lead to the fruition of this ‘sapling” site. I look forward to watching our new site grow in the fertile grounds that Ryan, his team, and my classmates have created.

So until next time,

Be Well, Stay Whole, and remember to enjoy the view on the Journey!

KJ
